    Default Color of Crappie

Last night I caught a half dozen keepers off of my dock, they were the first of the year for me. I was amazed at how white they were! They had almost no color to them and I could darn near see thru em' if I held them up to the sun!! Pretty skinny too, but to me the first keepers of the year are all good!!

Thanks KC, I plan on getting out on the water a lot Sunday thru Friday of next week. I have a couple of groups coming in from Indiana to go after some slabs! As of this week, I am limited to fishing off my dock, to much going on to drop the boat in and fish the last hour before dark.....work is no good! I guess where I am on LOZ the spawn is still a little ways away, depending on the temp I am sure.

One reason they are so light colored is the color of the water being dark. Muddy water lighter the fish. Clearer water darker the fish.
