Stayed home with a cold for a couple of days this week. Got bored and decided to tie some jigs that are a bit off the wall. All hand poured, painted, and tied with no particular thought in mind. Most have a hackle tail that extends out past the marabou with some flashabou accent thrown in. Will they work? Probably. Would I use them? Probably not. Just wanted to show what boredom and cold meds can do to you!!!

I hope I'm the first to say WOW! Those are AWESOME! I wish I had half the ability to create such jigs. And I wish I had double the meds to dream that stuff up!!!

Just about all those color combinations would work around here, especially the purple ones. Very nice job!

Sometimes you can't help those aches and pains! Your fingertips get numb, your eyes get so watery, and the pain is tremendous. I am sure the crappie will appreciate your pain as they go to your frying pan. Those will catch a few of them.

Your carpet looks like my carpet. Great minds think alike. Very nice jigs! Taking the pictures against the carpet does eliminate a lot of glare.

I'm a believer in giving Crappie a look at something they haven't seen before. I think these would qualify. Good job!

Yeah, hawkman, you keep expecting Hendrix to blast out of your speakers!!

My fishing buddy and I use the same basic colors and I just like to walk on the wild side every once in a while. We keep it simple. Pink/blk/pink, White/white/white, Orange/blk/chrt. One that we use a lot is Gray/gray/gray. It's been around for a hundred years, but it comes as close to a natural shad/minnow as I can get. There's always a couple of trains of thought to any artificial bait......color selection and bait imitation. The gray is not what I'd call a high visibilty, but the chenille I've been using is called "new age" and it has a bit of flash built in. The gray "new age" gives off a iridesent color that mimicks a shad or minnow's scales reflection. An overlooked color for sure.

Our country was founded by a bunch of guys in a tavern with an idea and a drink in their hand. Cold meds work the same for lubricating ideas, as your jigs prove. Nice work.
