Need some info on crappie fishing at night. Heard folks talk about it, but I've never tried. Heard about lights that float and it attracts bugs and they attract minnows and that of course brings in the crappie...so I'm told. So, ultra lights with minnows and corks?? How long does it take for the crappie to start coming around the light, how deep to fish, etc. Any info would be helpful.

I night fish 99.9% of the time but then again that was how I was shown to fish for crappie. I really enjoy it and in the summer you do not have to worry about boaters, its very quiet. All you need is rod holders a couple of lights or lanterns and 2 anchors and you are set for nightstalking. Good luck!
I found this site when I was trying to figure out what an "Evening Secret" was. They sell lights, but what got my attention, and I like most about their site is that they have a good "articles" section all about night fishing - that's where the link below points.

Before anybody jumps in and yells SPAM!!!! I don't own any of their products, nor do I endorse them - but I do like their night fishing articles - they are very informative.
Oh ok, I'm new ha. Guess I just need to figure out how deep to fish this time of the year. They spawning (or just about to) here in MS, so not sure if now is the time for nights or wait til later toward summer...I've heard summertime best, but who knows. Everyone's got an opinion. Thanks for all the tips.
