    Default Identify this Fish!

I caught this in the Tennessee River yesterday and I don't know what it is. I also managed to catch an odd assortment of fish including striped bass, largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and even a trout. But this is something that I couldn't identify. It almost looks like a giant minnow.

    Question Not "exactly" sure ..

but, it does closely resemble a Mooneye :

"Might" be a Herring Shad (possibly a Blueback Herring) or even a Alewife ... but, that'd only be a guess.

Big shad or shiner looks like to me.Could possibly be some type of Aquarium fish somebody dumped out, people do that a lot of times not being aware of harming the environment.
