These pics came from a guy over on www.turbodieselregister.com. Thought some of you might be interested in them. Poor guys foot slipped of the brake petal right onto the gas pedal. Knocked his head on the A pillar and blacked out, next thing he woke with water coming in to the truck. Swam out the open window. Truck will probably be totalled but he came out ok. The guy swimming by the truck is the tow truck guy hooking it up.

Did he have to pay 7.00 to launch the boat or 14.00 to launch the truck and boat?

Man I sure feel for the guy and that truck. I came close to backing into the water the other week. I knew when to stop and put the truck in park and go get help to tow me out.

You never know when something like this can happen to you.

Launch fee SEVEN DOLLAR! Outrageous.

one of our state parks in MS charges 7 per boat and another 3 bucks for the second person in the boat. Probably would charge you 14 for the boat and truck also

It seems nobody except myself can live without talking on a cell phone all the time (like a teenage girl), including the swimming tow truck driver. Isn't that what it looks like?

that reminds me of something that I read in the paper a few years ago about some ice fishermen in I think MI. Well these two guys decided that it would be easyer to just blow a hole in the ice with some TNT. so they drove out on the ice with their brand new truck, got out lit the TNT and through it. The only problem was that they brought their dog too. well the dog dcided to go retrieve it, he grabbed it, then the two guys started yelling at him to drop it, the dog got scared and went and hid under the truck well you can guess what happened.

He was probaly launching his boat when he saw the $7 fee and passed out and launched the truck by accident. I sure bet that tow truck driver was not happy if he had to go swimming.

Howdy; i wouldn't worry about the tow truck driver, most likely charged him triple the normal rate. tarfu

I saw the same thing happen last week. A guy on his first trip out forgot to raise his motor and when the guy next to him loading at the ramp hollered to him he stopped and must have not put the small Chevy PU in park or something because when both people jumped out of the truck it went backwards into the water and started floating off! They tried to hold it into the bank but it started drifting out like it was being pulled by a tide. The boat was floating the bed up and finally the truck cab took in enough water to sink straight down just off the ramp. I heard the next day that when the wrecker came, it hooked to it and pulled it to the top of the ramp and somehow when it stopped, the cable came loose and it started back down the ramp and this time jack knifed just before going back in the water and crammed up against a retaining wall. I really hated to see it happen to anyone and I am so thankful that no one got killed or injured. They make new trucks and boats everyday!!! Better to play it safe and someone stay in truck with a foot on the brake when there is 2 guys together. It shook me up to see it all happen and soooooo fast too. You can't be too careful in my book so wear that life jacket and seat belt too!!! Speck

Ya got to be careful. Three or four weeks ago my trailer dropped off into a deep hole at the end of the ramp. The water in the lake was down several feet and I'd only launched when it was higher. The hole was new to me. I was alone and afraid to get out of the truck. For a while I thought I might roll back too far with the Ford as well, but some other fishermen came and helped before it turned into an expensive outing. Needless to say, I was thankful.

7 bucks is about average around here for Lake of the Ozarks. All the other lakes in Missouri are Corp owned and they are 3 bucks. But the do have a deal on buying a 30 pass for the whole year. Doesnt take a genious to figure which one to buy.

I hope the bait shops near those $7 ramps are cheap to make up for it. I hope they are cleaned relentlessly, if they are very well kept I guess it's not bad

7-10 dollars is not uncommon for a launch fee, $3 is a fair price but not uncommon for the higher prices!
