old trolling motor question

i have an old pfleuger trolling motor i just recieved. the steering head was broken off so i had to reattach it and in the process had to disconnect the three wires from the switch. my problem is now it won't run, i have reattached them in every different way i can immagine and nothing. power is getting to the motor however nothing will spin. in ideas or insights will be greatly appreciated. thanks

i have one of those in my boat junk i think . dont knoe if it will work . will check and see. maby tomorrow if i can and dont forgit .
