    Wink foam

Good evening JD. I have used foam ear plugs to flost a tube bait. A small piece of that may make it flost . Sounds good anyway.

Carp flies do exist and carp are popular in the UK. Might try Google for them.

They are VERY skittish. I fish for carp a lot but don't fly fish for them. I'd suggest checking out some other boards.

The Carp Anglers Group site has a fly fishing board here:

FAOL www.flyanglersonline.com has a "Warmwater" board, and carp discussions come up frequently. Flyfisherman.com also has a carp sub-board.

Finally, here's a two-part article on it. The author (Ian Colin James) is a fly guide who targets carp a lot. He also has a website.

Why didn't I think of corn? Does it stay on the hook while making the longer casts??

I like the look of those carp fishing forums too... Them folks are serious about a Carp...

I want to tie something on with my 8wt so bad I can taste it... Bye the way, Anyone ever notice how close a carp looks to a redfish?? All it really needs is a spot near its tail and I bet you could throw alot of experienced Redfish fisherman for a loop... I wish I had photo shop to test my theory..

This is a good fly to use but only lasts for a couple fish. Lead the fish enough for the fly to sink close to the bottom.

Big dry flys work too in the summer, last year I caught one about 22Lbs out of a pond by accident. I was testing out some new flies. Someone told me when the cottonwoods seeds drop the carp love them. Good luck.
