Sometimes, We have more problems with the creeks and rivers flooding in the spring with lots of rain and the melting of the ice and snow in the higher elevations.
Nimrod is forecast to crest at 378.7' and normal is 342'. Full capacity of the lake is 373' (top of spillway) .This is msl and that's how it's measured. If it reaches the projected level it will flood over the spillway 5.7 ' deep. This means the storage capacity at top of the pool will exceed 138 %. It will be a record since it was completed in 1942 for flood control. We probably won't see the lake back to normal till July.

We've got plenty here. The last report I heard was that it would crest at 383 msl(summer pool 360 +/-), and that was before the four inches we got last night. Spillway at approx. 398' msl. I don't know for sure if you can even launch anywhere, without just dumping in off the road.
That was what I was getting at. There's not much parking available like that here either without going around to the isolated areas and parking on the side of the gravels. Then, getting turned around or having to back a mile is the issue.
