Default Double Rig I am going to try

I think this will work and work well, I hope. I am going to fish this under a bobber and lets start from the beginning. Put slip Bobber on and tie the top fly type I showed the other day and it will be tied on with a Palomar knot with a long tag line to leave room for the jig on the bottom. After the knot is tied run the tag line back through the eye from top to bottom. It is just like a Drop Shot rig, OK? Then tie on the bottom jig.

What you end up with is the fly on top that will actually stand out from the main line so it's level and the other jig on the bottom will hang flat too. If you use a jig on the top I don't think you can get it to stand out level like you can a fly since the eye is in front on this fly and a jig on top would have the eye on top of the head so it would not hang level I don't think.

Now I just need the weather to corporate so I can get out on the lake to try it.

For a reminder of what bait I am talking about here is a pic. The rig pic is below.

So what do you think? Will this work better than a jig on the top one?

Here is the double rig I am going to try. This is not the same fly as the above one, but it's the same type being a Bead Head.

Well I have done it like that, but it would not hang out if I do that. I have also fished with minnow's like that and in place of the minnow hook is the Bead Head Fly.

You may be right, but I am going to fine out I hope this weekend depending on the weather.

    Thanks,

You know dang it I should have tied it on up side down to the hook would get then in the roof of their mouths. Guess I will have to tie it again up side down this time.

Guys I understand the movement thing by using a tag line, but I want to see how it does tight against the main line so it doesn't hang there and will be more flat. Bass fishing a Drop shot rig ties the hook on just like this and the bass will hit it. I just believe the crappie will too. but the proof in in the doing and that I will try in the next few days.

I had it tied on with a loop knot before I changed it to this. I know the crappie will hit a minnow like this because I have done that.

    Thanks,

I use a loop knot on the top too. It gets the jig out some and allows the crappie to take it deeper into its mouth. The way you have it setup, he cant take it very well. I tried your way. It just doesn't work that well for me.

    Default stand out hook

ever think of tying onto a standout hook and using it as the top jig. I tied some and they dont look to bad for my level of tying. my 2 pennies
