    Default Spin Knot Video

You all have heard me speak of the spin knot, so here it is. Don't ask me, I just tie it. Bill Dance showed this to me many many moons ago.

If your jig is too light or just a hook , slip a small bell weight on the hook before you spin it. Heavier is easier to spin.

Works fine. Fast. Lift a crappie with it.

Thanks for the thought- but monofilament is generally invisible to see in videos. Maybe use cord or flyline for illustration purposes(?). I'm always interested in a new knot to learn for various applications. Is this supposed to be a really strong knot or is it for a specialized application?

WOW, you are only the second person i have ever known that ties that knot. I was taught this knot on Toledo bend back in the late 60's (i was a kid then). Have been using it every since on baits with weight. Kinda tough to tie just a bare hook but you could weight it as you say. WAY easier and quicker on jigs than anything else and seems to be strong enough. Never knew what to call it.

    Thanks

Great work & she sure made it look easy---Too Easy. Please could U do it again using like a 10# Gold stren or cheaper yet a piece of white cord like stuff on blinds. Put cord in paper cup with your favorite food coloring. Not griping just trying to learn, thanks

That is 8 lb Hiviz yellow. Looks good til I have to compress the file to get it on the internet. We will do another take when we get another chance. This was our first try in low light conditions.

it is just a knot. Nothing special. Picks up crappie and bends hooks.

Did you try full screen view? Click on link, then click on full screen, then click on the maximize box. Should get a full screen view. It is easier to see the knot in the full screen view.

Thanks for recommending the full screen Tom, it makes a world of difference. Once the ice finally goes away, I'll be giving the spin knot a try. I'll practice it a bit at home - just to be doing something fishing related.

Tell Vonna she's found a new calling - knot instructor!

Nice video - thanks for taking the time to make it and to share with the gang!
