Red face ohjoe Lost in Ohio

    Help,

Just recently moved to Toledo, Ohio from Albuquerque,New Mexico.(Retired) Sure am in need of a fairly close crappie hole, mainly bank fishing. but can get a boat..
In 25 years of crappie fishing in New Mexico, I have plenty of great spots there, so if you are in search of a few, contact me here, but if you can help me put a few slabs in my skillet, I sure would be indebted to you, an old fisherman, just lookin for maybe one more big slab...Joe :o

    Welcome aboard from Upstate NY!
Be sure to check out the Ohio message board - those fellers should be able to point you at some fishing holes pretty quick.

Have you tried any of the backwaters of the Maumee River?
The spring walleye run should be getting started anytime now.

Have you seen that mess down there, I live very close to the Maumee River, My idea of fishing is to get AWAY from the crowds, ha, but thanks for your input, I'll get my eyes out on the Lake, in the next month or so..but in meantime, just want to look for crappie.. Ohjoe

Man, I grew up in Toledo in the Door and City Park Street area. Went to Scott High School on Collingwood Ave. Left there in 1963 to go to Tennessee State in Nashville.

I remember fishing the Maumee River towards the Power Plant. There used to be some pretty good fishing at the end of Door Street too.

Sandusky Bay. Have heard the many dock areas can be dynamite for crappie. Call some of the Sandusky bait shops, marinas, etc., I'm sure they can point you in the right direction for either shore or boat fishing. Also, you're now sitting near one of the best smallmouth lakes in the country in Lake Erie.
