    Default Smokers galore/ciscoes


    The tullibees are on fire now up here in northern Mn.
    I thought to share a taste of what we will be smoking in the smoker.

    Tullibee=Ciscoe which are didferent from whitefish or golden eyes or mooneyes.

    Not sure about Whiting, but some folks around here call 'em whitefish. I think they're in the herring family, so I'll bet they're great smoked.

    WOW looks just like our shad we have in the lakes in the south.
    But take one of ours out of the water in warm weather. and they go back in a few minutes

    Not when they are 2-3 lbs.
    They are great smoked.Up north anyway.

    never took a liken to smoked fish---it was all fried in a pan when i grew up
