Anyone ever fished this lake? I am meeting a buddy from Manhattan there on Saturday and I have no clues on this lake. Does it have a warm water area at either of the two lakes like Coffey or LaCygne? Gonna try a little of everything I guess. Any general info would be great..Thanks!

I think there are two lakes out there, but I think only one of them is used for cooling the power plant. I think it's the smaller one of the two.

Please post if you have any success out there because I have been thinking about going out there myself and would be interested to know how you do.

The KDWP Manhattan area fishing nights video on their website highlights the Jeffrey Energy Center lakes. It seems like the biologist said they were pretty good.

I will let you know if I go...I wish I knew for sure there was going to be some warmer water in there...I watched the presentation and he said there was water flowing in and out so there should be and its only 125 acres so hopefully the water temps will be a little warmer than the 40's. They guy at the guard house could not even tell me so who knows.

well we gave it a try and it turned out to be terrible....no hot water which is ok...but it is so flat out there and a 20mph wind made it nearly impossible to fish....We did find some crappie in one area where we were protected from the wind...really tough fishing though....FYI...Boat ramps are pretty steep and only a little portion are pavement and then is goes to lose gravel/dirt....not easy to get out of on the big lake...
