    Default Bobber stops

Being fairly new to this site I was wondering what everyone uses for bobber stops. Currently I use stops by Renegade (SP). But with older age I have problems threading it on. Other types I have tried only lasted a few depth changes before failing. If I use "Reel Magic" it doesn't last any time at all.

    Thanks all for your knowledge!

This is what I use. I know some people don't like them but that's OK. You can get them at Wal-Mart.

I have tried the ones from BassPro listed above and did not care for them at all. They were flimsy and broke/wore out easily. I use the following and am very happy with them:

I always run the line through one eye, flip the stop over and run it through the other eye. This keeps the proper tension on the line so you don't move the stop if you reel it up into/past your rod eyes.

    Hope this helps,

I used to use both of the above and now use this one and love em.
The key I've found with using these is. After tightening down, wet the stop and then re tighten. I'm not kidding, they work great for me.

I use those as well... and if you don't tighten them too tight... their very easy to readjust to a new depth and they don't interfere with casting and reeling in. But best of all they last a good while.

i like the ones skeeter jeff uses, the dog bone kind works pretty well and goes through the guides smoothly, and is easily moved up and down to change depths

i use the same ones fishermike uses for crappie bluegill and catfish i really like them because you cant trim them down and reel them back in your reel and they dont really hurt casting

I use the same ones Fishermike uses. They hold up trip after trip and in the dark they are easy to work with.

I use the thread stops as well. I have always had a tendency to trim the two ends a little too close, just like trimming off a knot. If I leave a little more on each end, there is enough to get ahold of to tighten them down. They last a through a few more depth changes that way. Good fishing.
