Respool...
i was just wondering when anyone buys a new reel that comes with line on it, do you use the existing line or respool with what you prefer? i always respool bc off of every reel i get when i take the line off it is never fastened to the spool.(if i get one with it on there) and if i was to use it and get that low i would hate to lose my lure if i casted and it just flew through the rod guides! i have a preferred line anyway to respool.:D

Nowadays I respool - because I like different kinds/weights of line for different kinds of fishing, AND have a couple brands I like better than others. When I was a kid though, we used the 8lb mono that came on our Zebco 202's until it was gone - then respooled, usually with whatever brand they had at the hardware store (was more of a general store) for a couple bucks.
i never ever use prespooled reels
respool
No. Never use it, I don't trust it
I use it for time and haven't had any problems with it fishing for pan fish.
I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---DONT EVERYBODY ? Thumbs Up
I like to use the hi vis yellow line so I take off the prespooled stuff.I did buy some Wally Marshall reels a couple years ago and they came with the yellow line so I usedwhat was on them, the couple Wally reels I bought last year came with a clear line so it got stripped off.
Only the good Lord knows how long that line has been wrapped around the spool. Plus I'm never sure of the quality of the line...respool. Tell ya the truth, I can't remember the last time I bought a reel that was prespooled. Tight Lines!
