Default Cuttin the fat out of fishing....What are you doing to get 3 trips for the price of 2

With prices on everything rising higher than the sun and moon, we need to discuss ways to save while fishing. I buy baits per 100 as to cut down on the expense. I make my own ice in 2.5 pound frozen blocks (2 liter bottles with top cut off), and I keep 8 ready to go, I know 4 equals 10 pounds, easy to track this way. I quit running everywhere at full throttle and now run about 3/4 throttle. And recently finished testing my 55 gal drum tank to purchase and keep minners by the pound at the house. OH yea and I go to big lots or a place like that and buy a CASE of the decent sized bottled waters for $4. It's 24 bottles in a case I think, good sized bottles. The same bottle of water is $1.29 each at the quick-mart. Let's hear where we can save more guys.

Default Extra Extra Read All About It!!

Sac-a-lait kills Bream Reaper with toxic Mississippi River water sold in Big Lots for $4 per case. The EPA has pulled all the water for further testing.

You better have me some Dom Perignon and peeled shrimp for those two day I will be fishing with you at Ross.
    Thank You,
    Mathieu

I go fishing with PapermouthLegend. He always buys the gas.....
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Toxic? It's national brand SPRING WATER...Nothing but the best for you my boy. Peeled Shrimp? While I'm at it I'll peel a few grapes for you too. Wear your Toga down and you can just sit in the back of the boat and I'll feed you grapes and you can sip on girly-man drinks all day. LOL. Some of us old fishing guides trying to make it from what used to be season to season now is month to month.

You dont want to see me in a toga.:D I am sure it is getting tough with the price of fuel for guides to stay in business, much less be competitive in pricing for a full day trip. I am in the mortgage business and we are having tough times as well. I will see ya at Ross Monday and Tuesday. Make sure you at least ice that water down for me. I will need something to pour over my blisters from catching all those fish.'

It doesn't apply to Crappie fishing per say... but I used to be a big catfish and brim fisherman when I lived up north (most of the people I knew fished for these exclusively). I lived near a golf course and used to get out on the greens 1st thing in the morning and gather pounds of night crawlers... eventually I built a bedding box in the back yard and basically raised night crawlers... had a life time supply of huge night crawlers for all of my fishing trips... sure beat paying a couple bucks per container everytime I went.

*If ya don't have access to a golf course, there's others ways of making your yard a night crawler magnet.

I also belong to Sams Club and a case/24, 20oz Aqua Finas are $4.90. Roughly $.25 each as opposed to what you said Sac. There's all kinds of ways to shave a few dollars here and there for each trip out.

it's all going up Matt, fees for this and that...but it's all good..not complaining...Trust me, people that fish with me get their $$$ worth just with time on the water...We go after them till it hurts. And you can wear your Toga down, I know you sit around in it at the house without undies on, just wear the undies down here...OK...Oh and the water on the boat will be ICE COLD my brother. My skimping when I fish alone has nothing to do with you. If I can save a buck today that's more I can put into a guided trip. I know you have to spend it to make it.

See you next week bro. Gonna be sweet. Bring a BIG cooler for the fish you want to take home to show off whole.

Call me on your way down, we'll go out Sunday after you guys get checked into the 5 Star Resort I recommended. Le Rouge Roof

Bottled water will rot your teeth and put you on Viagra early in life (no substance).

Well water and 60hp goes a long ways.
