No comments? Maybe I answered my own question in my ramblings.
I have a new Minn Kota PD with universal sonar which I have only used 4 or 5 times. All those times everything worked fine. On Saturday I noticed the temperature was not reading right. I have two depth finders on my boat. The one on the back was reading in the mid 60 degree range, but the one on the front connected to the MK was reading 24 degrees. I turned it off, disconnected all plugs and then restarted it. It would read 39 degrees and then slowly go down to the 24 degrees again. Could this be a problem with the temp. sensor?
I guess I should have switched the depth finders around. That may have told me if it was the temp. sensor in the trolling motor or something with the depth finder.
Do you have the US-1 or the US-2? The US-1 does not have a temp probe.

Well shot that idea. But your on the right track about swapping finders if you can.

Can the scale be changed between C and F?

Have you tried swaping the units from the console to the trolling motor to make sure it is not the fish finder and it is the US-2. It is a starting place. If the temp works when you swap the fishfinder and you get temp then it will be the US-2. Then you will have to carry it to a service center to get it repaired. If it is the fishfinder then you will have to get it repaired.
