Yep, that just goes to show how big of a bait they can eat. Same with other species, too. I'm surprised he hit your bait though, you'd think he'd be full lol.
hey see there someone has the same ideas as me so im not as weird as i previously thought im telling ya i have found some weird things in fish guts
i was claning a catfish and found a clorox bottle lid that was kinda neat
is that a bite...YEAH FISH DONT HAVE HANDS
Some of the biggest ones I've ever caught had a shad tail poking out
of their throats when I went to unhook them - if you're into that sort
of thing, you can grab it with needle-noses and wiggle and pull, and
it will usually come back up in one piece Seen some huge
shad come out of 'em. I've wondered if the sure-enough slabs get that
way because they're gluttons more than just environment or
genetics, but coming from the individual personalities of the fishes?
OK, getting a little creepy there - may not want to get to know them that
well if I'm gonna eat them :p

Great thread
That's why I've switched to using the bigger bass minnows. Still catch small and large crappie.
CATCH A BIG-UN
I have some pics of the same thing. Crappie eat big baits! I use a big 1/4oz jig when I'm fishing open water around structure.
GoodLuck
I've had it go both ways enough times that I don't see a distinct pattern for bait size vs. fish size. I've caught many nice fish on 1/64th oz hair/feather jigs....and have caught absolutely pitiful dinks on crankbaits and big jigs.
A lot of times I think they eat whatever the prevalent food that is available ...as in the "match the hatch" concept, since they feed on both insects and baitfish.
Another thing is the size of fish in a given 'school'. Every time I stumble onto a pile of dinks, I've found they'll hit nearly anything...and almost never get a good fish out of that mess no matter what size bait I use. Then it's time to move on and find better fish!
