You might want to try double jigs, tipped with minnows, sprayed with spike it,run em deep and slow in the river channel and creek mouths around structure. mid 60's and above for the last one,I think?.
Last Sunday the water temp was 44-48 degrees, we just had about 2-3 inches of rain Monday & Tuesday. I'm guessing water has come up some.
Should I use Jigs or minnows this Saturday??
What depth should the crappie be at?
At what temp do they spawn??

Can't go wrong with a jig tipped with a minnow. I read to take a tube jig and put it on your hook first then your minnow, just a little something extra to get the crappie's attention.

Another vote for jigs tipped w/ minnows.
Double rig with a heavy jig on bottom and a minnow 1-2 feet above that. In Okla, the water temp is still a little too cool for them to take extra large baits like minnow tipped jigs. But that's just my experience. I've caught a few that way this time of year, and they're nice and big. But I miss out on a bunch of decent sized fish that are still wanting small food. I know this, because when I seperate the minnow and jig I catch more. Once the water gets over 50* (55* for sure) I will be fishing larger jigs, and/or tipping with minnows, but not yet.
Jeremiah 16:16a "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them."
55 degrees or higher is when they come in from deeper water to start spawning i believe. that is if the water temp is consistent or it may mess up the spawn (anyone know if that is last part is accurate. i have experienced problems with water temp and shallow spawn crappie before)
brushpiles and logs, one rod, one bobber, it's jig poppin time:D
I always try to have a bunch of different style jigs and minnows with me,then you can see what they want and your bases are covered.
