Yep, thrift stores and yard sales are a fisherman's friend. Sound like you got yourself one heck of a deal. Congrats on the good find! When you're out driving on a Saturday, keep an eye out for garage sales and yard sales. You can get some really nice tackle for next to nothing.

that,s a nice pole. i bought one about 10 years ago tied some eyes on it , and still in good shape today. nice buy

That is a great deal! Congratulations. Thrift stores and yard sales can be very user friendly. You can grab great bargains if you are patient. At least 45% of my fly tying and fishing supplies come from them. Also, be sure to check out estate sales and church parking lot sales.
