Looks good ... and the color combo is a proven Crappie catcher !!

I have come up with what I call the Bead Head Remnant (Blue & Fl Yellow) Fly. I am thinking of using this in a double drop set up and this one would go on top. I can make it in a lot of different colors and when they are being picky this would be a very small light option. This one is tied on a #8 hook, but can be tied on a even smaller hook making it even more tiny.

I do have a reason to call it The Remnant.

No that is just small Ultra chenille. I call it "The Remnant" because when I cut my feathers up to tie tails on jigs I save any part left that looks like it may be usable later. So I have a load of the kind of fuzzy part of the feathers left and I cut a small piece of that and tie this fly. I have saved these for 2 years and have been trying to come up with something to use it on. As long as it still has good color and something that looks good enough to use, I keep.
So it's the tail feather that is the remnant, LOL!
I can even change the bead head color to gold, brass or even black.

Use to be some older guys around here that used that type of fly/jig on a flyrod by-it self with a small ice fishing bobber and just wear-out the crappie in the spring, when the fish were up shallow.
But have never saw it used as a dropper fly, should work.
Kind of looks like a popeye jig.
I ended up getting the Cabela's Prestige out fit in a 9' 6wt. I only got to try it a couple of times last fall, but so far I like it.
Looking forward to this wind dieing. It has been blowing like crazy the last few days, like gusting a lot to 35 or better. Even today there are lake wind advisory and is supposed to be 15-25. On a lake this size it can get pretty rough blowing like that.

How do you fly fish with jigs...same as normal fly fishing and fly casting? What size weight do you use on the jigs?
