Default Watchin' fish, and when to go....

Call me crazy if you wish: just want to share a little something that I have been doing for over 20 years. As crazy as it sounds: it has never let me down.

My uncle (way-back-when) gave me a little pointer a bunch of years ago, and totally swore by it. since then, I have done so and really have put alot of faith in it. Have been testing the theory constantly for over 20 years, and seems to hold true.

This weekend was no exception, and saw first hand the proof.

    Here goes:

I have always kept an aquarium in the house somewhere with at least a couple larger fish in them. watching them was a pretty good indicator that they were not real active at all this weekend. My fish were pretty much dormant and out-right not doing anything, just layin' around and moving very little at best. I have come to recognize that when the fish here at home are'nt doing much, the fish at the lake are'nt either. My catfish is quite normally pretty active and since thursday evening he has slowed down to being out-right lazy.

I honestly believe the barametric pressure has alot to do with it, but not sure what else. anyhow: was proven again this weekend; fishing was out-right poor. Even with live minnows in their faces. I was watching them on the underwater camera. they would slowly cruise up to the minnow and then back off. did manage to hook a couple, but not a 1/50th of what I saw down there.

again: call me Crazy, but I have been paying attention to this for over 20 years and has held true almost every time.

I do not expect anybody here to accept this as fact, just wanting to share a little observation that has some merit. Take care

I totally agree.....i had a small black crappie that i watched for a couple of years and when he didn't want to eat there could be a dozen minnows around him but when he wanted to eat he'd eat till he couldn't swallow anymore.

One of my old neighbors used to tell me to even watch the farm animals. If they are feeding, so are the fish. Must be something to it because he could tear them up.

I have heard both of those statements, but never payed any attention guess I should.

Do you think that is a function of the barometer or what?
