My Grandpa and I go crappie fishing every spring break and we're looking for a good place to go that isn't too far from St. Louis.... We've been to Paris Landing, Reelfoot Lake, Lake Shelbyville and Kentucky Lake.
Any help would be great!!

I've done good on Truman quite often. Better fish than what you catch at Mark Twain, usually.
Lake of the ozarks is my home lake and is full of crappie,if ya'll want to come this way i'll do everything i can to give you a headstart.

I know you want to stay relatively close to St. Louis but during spring break time you'll find warmer water the further south you go. Be patient with the unpredicable weather changes this time of year.
