Default Losing posts - time out issue

Now that we have the site hosted and the down time problem is solved, is there something we can do about the time out issue. Nearly every post I spend any time on or have to edit for any length of time causes the site to log me out and I have to copy my post and relog in or lose the post. Several times including once today I have spent considerable time on a post and then lost the whole thing when I got logged out and couldn't get back to the post I was working on.

I have participated on many forums, and this one is the very best, but it is also the only one I have ever used that does this and it has to be a forum setting issue or a glitch of some sort. I know I have complained about this in the past and the last thing I want to do is cause grief to Slab or anyone else that manages this excellent site, but this is a really irritating issue. Yes, maybe I'm a bt windy in my posts, but still very frustrating.

Grizz, I've been fighting frustration with that all along too. This week I started checking the remember me box by the login, and I have cookies enabled, and I've made some pretty long-winded posts without getting logged out. My browser is FireFox 2.00.12

I have also done those things, and I also use Firefox, and they have helped, but the problem is still there and I have still lost some posts I've worked pretty hard on. Its an issue that shouldn't be there regardless of those helps, and I would be interested in knowing why this forum does that and no other that I frequent don't.

Slab and others who run the site please don't take this as criticism or dissatisfaction on my part with crappie.com, because you all know I truly appreciate the site. This particular issue is frustrating and has been for a long time, and I'm sure it is to others as well.

When I was having that problem I would just open up a MS Word document and type my reply in the word document and when finished with the reply I would copy the word doc onto Crappie.com and submit it.

I haven't been having that problem lately.

I am going to enter this and wait to see if I lose it. 5:58 PM. Came back at 7:38PM and it's still here. I never post a long post so I thought I would try this and didn't have a problem.

Grizz i some time will have the same problem. I now when I think I've gone on to long I copy my post before hitting the post button so if it disappears I just log back in and paste it and all is good.

Grizz, this is a shot in the dark but under User CP, Edit Options, the last item, see if it is set for "Standard Editor - Extra Formating controls"
