I have seen small ponds where the owner feeds them at about the same time everyday and the fish seem to be waiting on him. So I would think they might get used to a food source being there because of the light also.
The debate question of the day.....
Some light manafacturers claim that an underwater light on a photo cell will "train" fish to visit the area each night.
I understand how a light works (and the pros and cons of above/below water line), the question is.......
Can you pattern fish to congreate in the same area each evening by the regular use of a dusk to dawn light source?
As they say....the lines are open.

Like funfishing says, I've seen regular feeding work - they'll show up like clockwork. In theory, using lights might work along the same lines, as, the way I understand it, the light draws the stuff that baitfish eat and the baitfish draw the predator fish, so it is sort of like scheduled feedings.
Sounds like a good experiment for someone who lives on a lake or river to try. It would be interesting to find out if it works.
I have just placed a bamboo condo...and an underwater Green Monster at my dock.
I will keep you posted.
Anyone else with any experience or thoughts?

My money is on the condo
If the light is there it will bring the bait fish, crappie, etc. Should work fer ya good luck.
i have a favorite pier on smith with a light on it, have fished it during day and nothing, but as soon as it gets dark and the light comes on , fish seem to move up under the light with bait fish, so i guess they would be trainable, but it would have to be a daily event i guess, ive been fishing this same light for years.
I am trained. I love boathouses with lights at night. Catch fish. Be Happy.
