    Just moved to KS I live in Kingman and work in Witchita. I love to fish and would like to meet some local fisherman. I have a Ranger 681 VS and am ready to go do some crappie, walleye, white bass I don't care fishing! LOL Can anyone tell me about the local lakes? I am not far from Cheney, but am willing to drive just about anywhere to fish..

    Here is what I like....
    Like you, searching for best spots. Have not been out yet, the weather has not been the greatest.

    You might want to try Gander Mountain or something like that for fishing lakes. Got mine for $24. Has 220 maps
    just for the northern end of Ind.

    If I lived south it would have been sit up for the southern part of that state.

    Here is a great detailed list of what is printed.

    Marion and El Dorado are good fishing lakes too. Just watch out for Zebra mussels in El Dorado and Cheney. Marion has good white bass and hybrid fishing.
    The KDWP website is a good place to start. They publish an annual fishing forecast, and also have weekly reports about what's biting in each of the major reservoirs. With the annual and weekly reports, you will have an idea of what to expect. That's the first place I look for information when I am planning a trip to a lake I haven't fished yet.
