    Default Minnesota trip

    Hi All;
    I live in East Texas and am thinking about makeing a trip up to Minn. Most likely the last two weeks in May.One destenation is Lake of The Woods.I saw it once back in 1976 when I was in the Air Force at Grand Forks N.D.
    I would like to get into anything that is biteing that time of year.SO I have a few questions.
    First At Lake of The Wood, When is ice useualy out? Is ther any special liscense requirments because its a boarder lake.What other lakes offer good Walleye and Northern fishing? I know this is a Crappie Board and I am an Avid Crappie fisherman,But hey I like to catch other typs of fish too.
    Any help I would be thankful for.

    Try the Minnesota DNR for licensing questions.

    Here are a couple of websites that might help you get the information you want.

    http://www.lakeofthewoodsmn.com/

    Lodging and fishing reports

    Other than that...may I suggest a great walleye and northern pike lake?

    Try Upper Red Lake.....which has 40 inch pike and great walleye and crappie fishing.Check out this website for more info.
