I've cut up plastic worms to make my own beetle-spin bodies for years. Never gave much thought to trimming down a twister grub though. Thanks for the tip!
Last time I was looking at the soft plastics for crappies, I noticed that the new stubby butts ($2.00 for 20), ringer stinger ($4.29 for 25), bass assasin ($2.39 for 20)are more expensive the the plain old 2" twisters ($2.19 for 50). I got home and cut the twister tail off so that the tail went straight out the back. It looks just about the same. (Now, where are those trash fish (bass) fishing worms).

Cool Idea, I Probably Have About 5000lbs Of Bass Plastic Lures. I Should Be Able To Make A Bunch Of Crappie Jigs With All That Plastic. Lol
