Just thought I'd let some of you guys that live up north (with frozen lakes) see what happens in North Texas during the winter.

Sweet! One of the reasons I will shortly move south. TX has a real shot at where I will go. How bout some suggestions from you TX crappie anglers as to the best crappie fishing in TX? Now I know I'm talking to Texans here so lets try to keep it real, so I can make a good decision. Now don't get your guns, I'm not callin you guys liars. I just have heard a few Texans describing their home state and detected some *ahem* exaggerations. :D

No lakes close to the house here in Paducah but several in a 100 mile radius. Housing is cheap though. If you consider a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with a 1 car garage and central heat and air and a basement for $25,000.00 cheap.

All these fish came out of Cedar Creek lake, which is about 2 hours southeast of Dallas. And I'm not sure I could pick a "best" lake in Texas for crappie, cause there's a bunch that have really good crappie fishing. It all depends on if you want to live close to a big city or more out in the country. Some of the lakes that I personally like are Cedar Creek, Ray Roberts, Lewisville, Lavon, Fork, Tawakani.......and there's about 200 more that are great that's not mentioned here. Sorry Grizz, but I had to get that Texan exaggeration in there:D
