Default Those of you that Spider Rig....

and have two rigs on the front; doesn't one get in the way when you pull up the trollong motor? Do you remove those 3-4 rods or can you spin the rod holder out of the way? I have two new rod holders and I don't know whether to put one at the back or both up front. I do have a double seat set up but dang it looks like that one on the left will be in the way of the trolling motor. Help!!!!!!!

Mine doesn't get in the way. I use a TightLoc system where the only thing bolted to the boat is the small channel that the stand slides into. I can adjust it right and left to make room for the trolling motor. I would place my trolling motor in the stowed postion and then put the rod holder where I thought it would not get in the way. Then have someone deploy the trolling motor to insure it will clear the rod holder. May have to adjust it a few times before you get it where you want it. Once you do, mark, drill, and mount.

    Hope this helps.

I have to move on of mine when I use the big motor to move. My 74# MinnKota takes a lot to room to deploy and I wanted both holders in the same position relative to the seat and deck position.

Yeah, that's tough. I wanted both of mine in the exact same place on the deck but that is wishful thinking with most peoples set-ups. Had to move mine a little toward center but it doesn't bother the fish and when your catching fish it doesn't bother you either. I would have to say that if it was permanently mounted to the front of my boat I may take issue with it but mine slide out and stow in the box, so all's good.

I don't spider rig per say, but my pole holders fold. They work great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Illinois says 2 poles in the water at a time right? Maybe that's just lake rules?

    Cane Pole,
I really like your setup. I'm in the process of mounting a 797 on my rig and I was just wondering when they are going to get us a HUD, like the one on those new F-22's, so we can get some of this electronic stuff out of the way?
