Default Now this is pretty different (really) Please tell me!

I tied this like a fly using dubbing methods and I don't know how well this pic is going to show what I want it to, but here it is anyway.

I heard somewhere that UV can be seen for up to 1/2 mile under water, is this true? Any one know?

Look close to see this body material has UV properties and flashes of blue/purple shinning off this pearl body. Now the tail is hair from Springbok Antelope so it is soft, at least much softer than deer or anything like that so do you think either of these special thing about this jig will make a difference?

I don't use hair personally much so want you guys that do to help me out a little here. That tail is a lot softer than deer or elk or even squirrel.

Actually I am kind of excited to get to try out this UV pearl stuff so let me know what you think about it.

OK enough he is the pic...

    Thanks,

I don't know if it will be any better than a normal chenille jig...but I certainly don't see it doing any worse. Good job.

I really like the looks of this jig. I've never seen one exactly like it. I don't like to use deer or elk hair because it is to coarse, I have a hard time getting it tight enough without it really flaring out. Never have used the UV stuff but I use kiptails and metallic tinsel chenille which is similiar and I really like the way it catches fish. If that jig in the picture doesn't catch fish, something may be wrong with the fish.

I would personally like a soft tail. Marabou or Squirrel would work IMHO. Seems to me that a hard tail would turn off a finicky and discerning crappie who really inspects the bait before choosing to inhale it. You want that movement to imitate something that is alive to trigger a bite.

Ship it is softer than squirrel or most any hair like that. Marabou feathers are softer, but not stiff at all.
