Default How to humiliate a pro anlger...

When I was like 16 or 17, I went shore fishing with a large (20+) group of people along the Potomac. I was as green as it gets back then. So there's this guy fishing about 100 - 125 feet to my right. He's a hot shot, professional bass tournament fisherman and a loud mouth at that.

So anyway, I'm reeling in, minding my own business when suddenly some commotion starts on my right. Seems our pro bass guy has gotten a strong tug on his line. Well, he sets the hook and begins hollerin "I got that sucker! I got that sucker!" as loud as he possibly can. A crowd of people starts forming around him. I start to feel something tugging on my line also.

Well he finally reels in all the way and discovers that his trophy fish is actually my rig which I somehow managed to cast almost parallel to the shoreline and crossed over his. His crowd of followers disperses almost as quickly as they had formed. In all my days fishing since, I have never seen an angler as red, angry, and embarrased as he was.

    I guess I got THAT sucker :D

    Serves the guy right.

Back when hybrids were first introduced into this area I saw a "pro" in a big boat, wearing his sponsored clown suit. Dad and I were about to trailer the boat when we heard, I got 'im I GOT 'im. Git the net NOW. Everone was looking at him as he boated a 2 lb hybrid. We all laughed him to SCORN.

You can bet that he never forgot that one. Big wind finally just quietly trailered his boat after us.

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

That's pretty good. Reminds me of that one time I was stupid enough to go on a headboat out in the ocean. Imagine 50 guys just like him some even dumber with a hot shot ego all on the same boat. It just ends in chaos!!!

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
