    Default Weighing

I always checked mine on my digital reloading scale, which measures in grains. Most companies jigs are really close to the weight. I did have some that when used with a float were a tad heavy

I've noticed something interesting in painted versus unpainted jigs; the painted jigs seem to be heavier. I try to select floats and split shot that cause my jigs to be almost neutrally bouyant, and many times I use tubes. I make the jigs myself, so I'm pretty sure they're the same weight to start. However, I have to change floats if I switch from an unpainted to a painted jig; the painted jig will cause the float to slowly (extremely slowly!) sink, rather than rest just at water level. I've only noticed it with 1/32 oz jigs or smaller. Anyone else experienced this?

A few times, I've used the slowly sinking float to my advantage and caught more and bigger fish than other methods.

Agreed. Just wouldn't have thought about it if I hadn't actually seen it.
