Hi All,
I was told, to lure crappies in at night, while ice-fishing, to drill a hole, and put a constant light source pointing down into the hole.
So, here's what I did.
I took a 5 gallon bucket, and mounted a Car - Fog Light on the front (12volt).
I have been hauling a battery out on the ice with me, and drill a hole for the light to shine down (where I know I may get some action).
MANY aquatic larvae, and plankton quickly show up, and are evident throughout the entire beam of light, as far as I can see down.
I am not seeing any more crappies on the Vexilar, then the 2 years fishing without the light on this lake.
Am I missing something here?
you need to back away from the lighted hole to where you can just see the light that's where the fish will be they will be ready to eat and make holes all around the light as they will cruise around it
