Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could tell me what the oil is that comes on new tube jigs. You know-when you buy a new package and they are oily to the touch and it coats the inside of the package, so they move freely.
If it's not known, any ideas on something else that I could use to "liven up" my tubes that have become sticky?
Thanks!

A bait dealer I know buys them by the thousands and they use canola oil to keep them from sticking together.

Thanks for the tips, guys! This is probably a stupid question, but the cooking oil will not spook the fish?
My wife is always wondering if I am actually learning anything by reading this forum, so I am going to print this post and give it to her...she's always wondering what I am going in the garage with all my fishing stuff...hahaha
You quoted what I said then said you were going to the shed to play with your fishing stuff...By fishing stuff do you mean... Tube...s???
I have coated several tubes with veg. oil or canoila(?). Just don't get crazy with it. Light coating will last a long time.
Good Luck...:o

Its called worm oil you can purchase it from lurecraft, do not add mineral oil to plastics. It will dry them out and discolor the baits.
