Does anyone know how populated the perch are at Rathbun? Caught a few last year and they were dandys.

    Ring perch in Rathbun??????????????
I didn't know they were there. Ring perch would make a dandy forage base for the walleyes along with the shad but since that lake is seriously lacking any decent vegitation, I doubt you'll see much of a perch population.
What do the rest of you think?

There arent any stocked yellow perch in Rathbun.I believe someone may have thrown a few in over the years, or they may come in with some of the minnows.More than likely the result of a minnow bucket biologist. You'll catch a few northerns every once in awhile which are a fluke as well.As someone else said without the weed growth I dont think theyd flourish very well.

I caught one two years ago. Was told that old rock pit next to the lake back in south fork has a good number of them.
