    Default Worm/Minnow harnesses

Wondering if anyone has used small rigs similar to worm harnesses for crappie? I made up a bunch of them. Size 8 hooks, then a couple beads, size 00 colorado blade, then a couple more small beads. Used some small 1/8 oz brass beads on some of them too for a little weight. They are about 2 to 3 inches long from bottom of hook to top of last bead. I'm thinking that they would work great with a minnow or small piece of crawler/waxworm. Can't wait for the lakes to thaw so I can try them.

Guess they don't get used very often. Still gonna give them a shot. Will post how they work.

I will definitely do that. Gonna be a while though....At least another few weeks or so. Lakes still have plenty of ice on them. Others still let me know if you've used them. Thanks.

Lots of folks around here use rigs like those for flounder. Of course it's sized up a good bit. They work fine, just make sure the spinner hole is nice and smooth so it won't cut your line.

Used alot around here too for walleye....sized up a little bit also. Had some extra beads and blades I got at a garage sale and thought I'd give it a shot. Who knows....May be the next big thing!

Used to catch crappie by accident all the time with a minnow harness while drifting for walleye. Most of the crappie were small though. Usually happened on days when I was free-lining (no weight, just the harness). I made them with a single hook in the front (lip hooked the minnow) and a number 10 stinger hook just behind the dorsal.

Sounds like it may work, I haven't used anything like that since I was about 7, I bet it would work with a curly tail or even a tube jig.. let us know what you find out...thanks
You can't fish with a hung line!

Sounds like a bearpaw spinner hook. We use em for crappies and walleyes. We drift them under bobbers with worm on one, minnow on the other. ( 2 pole limit here ) Do best when there's a nice chop on the water.
