I have used a 10 ft from the shore with no problems in fact i like it a lot if you have a little slack 10 ft of rod picks that up real quick.
Wally Marshall pro crappie rod is on sale. I was hoping you could tell me if the 8' rod is easy to cast from shore?
I do a lot of shore fishing :D

That rod will work well casting from shore,I sometimes use mine casting out slipfloat rigs from shore.
You should also check out Bass Pro's Float 'n' Fly rod. I have the 8'6" model and it's great for tossing jigs when wading or shore fishing. They're on sale, too:

If I'm fishing a float from shore (which is about 95% of the time), I like a 12-14 footer -- something like this:

I think by the time I get my tax refund, the sale will be over

The 8' rod should be a fine rod for whatever type of shore fishing you do.
