    Default Walley Marshall pro crappie

Wally Marshall pro crappie rod is on sale. I was hoping you could tell me if the 8' rod is easy to cast from shore?

I do a lot of shore fishing :D

I have used a 10 ft from the shore with no problems in fact i like it a lot if you have a little slack 10 ft of rod picks that up real quick.

is no different than casting from a boat, given that you have free range to swing the rod :p
Depending on "what" you are casting, and the distance you need to achieve, most any 7-8ft rod should do the job.

You should also check out Bass Pro's Float 'n' Fly rod. I have the 8'6" model and it's great for tossing jigs when wading or shore fishing. They're on sale, too:

If I'm fishing a float from shore (which is about 95% of the time), I like a 12-14 footer -- something like this:

Thank you all for the info on rod length and casting. I also like the fly rod info also.

-good to know you can cast an 8' easy.

looks like there is a five dollar difference between the 2. Now I have a decision to make...lol

The 8' rod should be a fine rod for whatever type of shore fishing you do.
