By far my favorite is a dark blood red....not a bright red. Seems to work regardless of the body I use. However, I do pretty well on unpainted heads as well, but feel better w/ a painted head whether it helps or not.
Chartreuse, Fluorescent Orange, Hot Pink are my favorites.
Charteuse, pink, orange but plain lead heads mostly.

Take a look at all the fine posts on the jig tying boards. I am sure you will get a ton of ideas there. As for me, Chartreuse head and......................any contrasting body and tail color works.

I use mostly chartruse 1/16 jig heads with 1 1/2 " yum balck and chartruse curl tails

I used to buy colored jig heads - usually to match the color of the tube, but I eventually switched to unpainted heads - and had no drop-off in my catch, so now, I simply use unpainted heads. I do, however, prefer round heads with red hooks and tube heads with gold hooks.
Number one for me is FL. Red. I use a lot of FL Chart and Silver also, but that FL. Red is a constant producer.
