I lost my fishing partner this year. His wife let him buy a boat and she is going with him now (he didn't see that coming did he?). If you live around BG give me a shout. I have a Boat with an empty seat. I fish Lake Malone and Old Hickory most but am planning on fishing Nolin and Rough River too. I fish with 3 other boats and I hate to have a empty seat.

Danny you think Kirk will get to fish much?....LOL

Glad you posted that. It is always good to meet someone from BG. Where did you go to school at, and when. I see by your profile that you live in AL right? :D

Klight, I hope we are all ready on.

Any one else I am right down the road from BG. All I ask is a good conversation...

Lag, I work in Nashville with the US CoastGuard. I fish the Old Hickory and cumberland all the time after work in the evenings.

We are, but for good conversation I can't guarantee that. We always come home with a funny story about something stupid one of us have done. It is like Vegas what happens on the lake stays on the lake.....LOL

Lag what kind of boat are you floating? Where at in Nashville do you live? I found a few spots on the up river from Opryland (close to Stones River) that were holding a few Black Crappie. I went in right there at that ramp and had pretty good luck end of last year...

Danny, Klight1122

I grew up at 401 Center Street about one block from the old Louisville and Nashville railroad station. (1945-1950) My parents moved to Toledo Ohio when I was five and I went to school there graduating H.S. back in 1963.

Went to school at Tennessee State in Nashville 1963-1967, Captain USAF in Wichita KS 1963-1967, Akron Ohio 1971-2004 and now I am retired living in the warm and sunny south.

hey thehines,
you can go ahead and buy your new liscenses now. If you buy them at Wal-Mart be very explecit with what you want. Or you can go to the county clerk's office but they don't take credit or debit cards there.

thehines,
I live about a mile and a half up the river from Opryland on the east side. I moved back here about 6 years ago when I retired. I have a tracker panfisher I bought about 5 years ago with a 40. The front drive works well for me on the river since I fish quite often by myself, although I have to admit that I miss the speed of a bass boat. I mostly go up the river and it's about 4 or 5 miles by water to the stones river. Fish for catfish and smallmouth here in the summer. Mostly fish for crappie on KY lake and make an annual trip to Reelfoot. Have a friend that told me he caught some walleye trolling up by Springhouse golf course. Didn't see them though. lol

Current KY Fishing Licenses expire 02/29/08 (it's leap year :p ) and I would assume at midnight of that day. On 03/01/08 the new license year starts. You've been a "permanent" resident of the state of KY for over 30days .... so you are considered a "resident" and can purchase a resident fishing license.

Lag you are close to where I was raised, Montague in Madison. River has changed alot. Used to catch walleyes in that slue that comes out just below old lock #2 on the right side in the mouth of the slue, rock point probably under water now. Old Hickory Dam not that far up stream good fishing below the dam. Hines you probaly using lock #2 park ramp that ramp use to drop off pretty quick may be fixed now. Go on up in Stones River be careful rocks and shallow water might catch some of the trout that TWRA released below Priest Dam. Smallmouth down around Opryland below the brigde.
