    Default shot foot?


    1986 Johnson 150

    when in reverse it clicks/clanks the motor bounces up

    Is my reverse gear shot?

    If you are lucky you may just need to adjust the slack out of your cables.But if it is as bad as you make it sound I would say that it is time for a new reverse gear and clucth dog...Good luck...

    Check the cables and linkage first for sure! Could also be a broken piece in the controls so if you have a safe place to test it disconnect cable at motor and engage by hand and see if it grabs.
