Nice!
The crappie fishing on Weiss Lake has been great over the past week!! I have been out for the last five days fishing with Pete, John & Greg Yankey from Salvisa, Kentucky and we kept a five day total of 382 keeper crappie. This included several limit stringers of 90. The fishing should continue to be great over the next week due to the nice weather that is in the forecast. Here is a few pictures from our trip...
Tuesday February 12, 2008...92 Keeper Crappie
Thursday February 14, 2008...90 Keeper Crappie
Friday February 15, 2008...93 Keeper Crappie
The crappie fishing should be great throughout the Spring season! I hope you get a chance to come catch a few and maybe you will catch a limit! See Ya on the Water!!!

Alabama Fishing Limits and General Regulations-
Note: It is a violation of Alabama law for any person to transport more than one day's creel limit of any species of game fish beyond the boundaries (of the State of Ala).
.... cp
LOL - Environmental resources must not be to picky down there. Does that apply to fish fillets in Ala?
Looked it up - not much more than CP posted. Better watch your step.
"It is a violation of Alabama law for any person to transport more than one day's creel limit of any species of game fish beyond the boundaries of this state. It is a violation of Alabama law for any person to fillet freshwater fish while on public waters except when fish are being prepared for immediate cooking and consumption, provided however, that fish may be drawn or gutted with heads left attached."
Couldn't find anything that expanded on that for transport of fish taken over several days. I guess they want to stop people from taking inordinate amounts of fish from the lakes.

That's a lot of good eating right there.
Thank God for Crappies in Alabama where there is no "Hard water" like in Minnesota or Ohio. Life is good at Weiss, Logan Martin, Guntersville, Lay lake, Walker Lake, Miller's Ferry, Martin Dam. Warrior River...............
What's a fellow to do.............except go and fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish them.

The funny thing about those pics was every day all those fish and only one white crappie in the bunch.Kinda sticks out like a T*rd in a punch bowl.Nice mess.
I noticed the same thing, one white crappie in the bunch. I guess that 100,000 crappie they stock every year must all be black crappie. Speaking of a nice mess, now I'll never be able to drink punch again
