    Default Jigs heads

I've found that I have more success with a body on the jig head. I believe that the colored body gives the fish additional eye contact and smell to help initiate a strick out of the fish. Just my $.02!:D

I don't know. Sometimes one seems to work better than the other, depending on time of year and water color. Mix it up.

Just by accident one day. I was using plain gold hooks with minnows on two poles and one of my unpainted jigheads on another. I was catching two to three fish on the jighead than one on the two with plain hooks. Duh I said and I put jigheads on the other two. I ran out of minnows pretty quick but caught 18. The jigheads I use are made out of tin so they are shiney. Maybe tricked the fish into thinking a school of baitfish was coming by and catching one might be easier or the extra shine drew more attention. My friend was proved that theory on another fishing trip. We were also drifting tightlines and haven't tried floats but should work the same. I read about a couple guys using some shiney bait with a minnow in a tournament and they came in third place.

Any combination can work at one time or another. And then change again an hour later.

I always mix it up and get varying results... Sometimes when they are skiddish a plain dark wire hook, no swivels, bb splitshot higher on the line than usual, and the smallest minnows work best.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
