whats crab boil? does it come from a can in the grocery store?

obviously, if i had some crab kicking around the house it would be an easy fix...

i have a few packs of redfish in the back of the freeze, bet theyd probably work too.

    thanks for your help,

crab boil is in a knit bag contains various spices available in seafood dept at grocery store. theres several diffrent brands (old bay) or (zatarans) are what
    my store carries.

you put the crab boil in with your fish while boiling it.

substitute fish of your choice for the crab in the recipie

I tried the one in jtlee's post last weekend. Instead of boiling I just baked fillets in the oven at 350 for 30 mins then cooled overnight then added a small amount of the liquid crab boil to the cakes while mixing. OUTSTANDING! We eat alot of fish, mostly catfish. My wife likes them better than crappie but this recipie she said we need to have more often.

I made a sauce like the blooming onion dip from Outback to go with it. VERY GOOD.
