Welcome from lake of the ozarks (loz) glad to have you.
I live in Franklin county. Is there any local places or within a hours drive to fish for crappie. I'm trying to flyfish for them. I know most are tight lipped about their hotspots, but maybe a push in the right direction. I fished all the big lakes, my dad lives on Table Rock. I want to wade or fish from the bank some place closer. I don't want to spend $100 bucks in gas to fish for a few hours.

Welcome to the board, Badcast. You will find that most on here are not so "tightlipped" about their hotspots. Be a contributor and not just a lurker and you'll find many in here willing to share all the info you might want.
Good luck to ya.

Welcome Badcast grew up in Franklin Co, Union, mom lives in St Clair. Your best bet if you want to fly fish close to home is find a farm pond with Crappie in it. Ask around at one of the bait shops, Bars, VFW, Legion, even church where ever there is a lot of BS going on. Someone will be able to hook you up.
Welcome from Springfield.... Lots of info and good folks willin to help! Shouldn't take to long...You'll be having crappie dinner. Good Fishin

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Thanks for the reply guys. Mr Zip, I'll take your advise. I'm a member of the Elk's lodge out here, might get a few places there. I moved here in 1998 from Ofallon and work in St. Louis. Most of my fishing has revolved around my kids and their sports. I have a empty nest now and like to fish a little more.
Badcast,
Welcome to the board, I am realtively new and have learned bunches (even some of it about crappie fishing).
