    Thumbs up 12 volt

If he has one of those little 12V batteries like the Vexilar uses, I would recomend the dedicated 12V ones. Mine is a Rapalla 12V---110v and I never use the 110 converter.
If I have to replace the knife, it will be 12V period.
I haven't heard any good reports about the rechargeable ones. I've seen many go dead at the cleaning tables.

I bought an American Angler 12 v. off Ebay for a few bucks cheaper than you can get them from Walmart for. If your Walmart dont carry 'em check any of the other stores mentioned. I saw 12 v. Mr. Twister and American Anglers at Academy Sports last time I was there.

Jim the new Dick's Sporting good store on Germantown Pkwy at I40 has a deal on the Rapala version. I think it's $29.

Ditto...seems like I paid $18.16 (that included shipping) for a 12v American Angler fillet knife on EBay. It came with a spare set of blades. Can interchange it with the American Angler 110v that I bought at Wally World. I go with American Angler simply because Wally World carries them and I have one here in my home town.
