    Default Crappie Attractants

Do you guys use crappie attractants on your lures? If so, what’s currently the best product out there on the market? Thanks!

    I'd rather be fishing!

Lots of folks use and swear by crappie nibbles by Berkley. If you use tube baits, get a bait pump for your nibbles. It will fill up your tube quickly and is mess free. I usually don't use any attractant, but some days that may be what they want.

I’ve been looking at Power Bait crappie attractant that come in a bottle as well as the Gulp waxies. You guys use any of these products yet?

I use crappie nibbles a lot when I troll tubes or hair jigs. I also use them in a bait pump inside the tubes. When I cast twister tails or the like, I use YUM, either the YUM Wooly Curltails or the Riverside grubs with YUM(LPT) on them. If not already on the lure, I have spray on YUM. I believe 100% that it makes a huge difference. I've used the Berkley stuff in a squeeze bottle with decent results, but I really like YUM better. Tough to beat the YUM Wooly line of baits too-Beavertails, Vibraking Tubes, and Curltails. And the scent is already there, no need to keep spraying or reapplying.

You can't go wrong with crappie nibbles. Been using for a long time and the boat never leaves the dock without them. A lot of folks talk about using a bait pump for them, but I just push one up close to the tube and I don't have problems with em falling off. Everybody has their favorite, I prefer the neon chart. sparkle. I tried that other brand, don't like them nearly as well. FYI, if you fish with a dog in the boat, PUT THE LID ON THE NIBBLES!! Buster (my weenie dog) thinks they taste real good.

So basically with the nibbles…they’re somewhat like little marshmallows that you just stick onto the hook along with the lure and it disperses in the water, which attracts fish to come in right?

    I'd rather be fishing!
