    Default OT: Ambassador 5500c Reel


    I have and ambassador 5500c reel that I bought new in 1977. I still use this reel some,but it is getting in bad shape. I was wondering if anyone new where I could get the reel rebuilt? Any help is appreciated!!

    Ask where you get bait,put a note on their bullentin board...is there any marinas near you,,somebody will know...or go to abu garcia's site and look for the reel schematics page and do it yourself,,,,ss

    You used to be able to send them back and they had a guys in house who rebuilt all models of their reels. Check their site for "contacts" list and call them. I haven't used services like that in some time, but I have had friend who sent back old Penn reels as well as old Coleman lanterns and they rebuilt them.

    May not be in house any more, but they might be able to fix it somewhere in CHINA

    He rebuilt mind, but check the price first!! It might be cheeper to buy a new one.

    i get all of my reel parts from professional sports shop in new orleans

    Zetty Woodward of Horn Lake MS. (662-280-0936) I have not talked to her in a couple of years, so I don't know if she still works on reels. I met her at a boat show and bought a few reel parts from her.
