Default Marine vinyl flooring for boat?

I am thinking of replacing my carpet with the vinyl flooring from Bass Pro. Has anyone use the vinyl flooring and how difficult is it to install? My only question would be how to put it on my hatch lids. Thanks

Go to NAPA and get one of those bedliner kits. Noy slippery, easy to clean and hard to destroy. Just a thought.

For the money it is hard to beat TUFFCOAT at BPS. I was a little leary of it at first and after pricing LineX and Rhino coatings I decided to give it a try. I am thrilled with it and it was very easy to install. Just be sure to put plenty of it down and not to roll it on to thin.

How much would it take for a 16' boat, one or 2 gallons? I have wood decking so would it need a primer first? Thanks

    Default Tuff Coat

PM Grubby on the Oklahoma board. He will answer. He did his whole boat,I only did one section. I did not use primer but it was new plywood. I put on two coats.

Bigbass91 I did a 16ft bass boat and it took less than a gallon. I scuffed the top of all things glass and put it right on the new plywwod that I put down as a new floor. I really like it so far its not easily scuffed. here is a few pics.

I started with one but it looked heavy in spots and light in others, so I bought another gallon and put a second coat on and it made all of the difference in the world. If you are not concerned about the look one gallon should do, but I would recomend two. Thats just my opinion. BPS also sells the primer and from what I was told that is the trick to making it adhere to the boat and not flake off. Be sure and spend your time prepping the surface and you will be pleased.
