Default Transom Mount Transducer On Trolling Motor?!?

Do you HAVE to own a tranducer made to mount on a trolling motor or can you use a transom mounted transducer on the trolling motor? Is there someone that makes a bracket that's universal for all different kinds of transducers that work? Anybody that owns a transom mount 'ducer put on a trolling motor have any kinds of problems?

I used a clamp kit from Harbor Freight Tools so I could custom make bigger clamps to fit my 80# trolling motor.

I think the kit was three dollars. Made two clamps and had enough for 4 more clamps. The fins on top of the transducer were angled to fit the curve of the motor. Fits snug and looks good.

BTW, the transducer was for a Bottomline 480T.

I made a bracket out of an old piece of alum storm door trim. It started flat, I bent 2 90deg bends, cut 2 slots on the side of the bends(for a large hose clamp), then drilled holes for the transducer bolt. It doesnt look store bought but was free and didnt take long to fab up. I'll try to get a pic if not raining tomm.
